DIY Bed and Pull-Out Drawer System for Your Honda Element: A Step-by-Step Guide

Building a bed and pull out drawer system for your Honda Element can be a fun and rewarding DIY project. In this blog post, I will walk you through the steps I took to build my own bed and pull out drawer system for my Honda Element.

First, I began by measuring the dimensions of my Honda Element's cargo area. I decided to make the bed platform 20 inches wide for the base board and 50 1/2 inches long, using 1/2 inch plywood for the base. I then built the walls of the platform, which are 50 1/2 inches tall and 14 1/2 inches high, using 3/4 inch plywood.

Next, I built the bed base. It is 50 1/2 inches long and 24 inches in width, which will be the perfect size to fit into my Honda Element's cargo area. I used 1/2 inch plywood to construct the bed base, ensuring that it was sturdy and durable.

After the bed base and platform were constructed, I installed the pull out drawer system. I used 40-inch ball-bearing drawer slides to ensure smooth operation. This allowed me to easily slide the drawer out and access any items stored inside.

I was also sure to use these sex bolts to handle the weight of the drawer slides

Finally, I sanded and painted the bed and drawer system to give it a polished and finished look.

Overall, building a bed and pull out drawer system for your Honda Element is a great way to make the most of your cargo space and create an extra sleeping area for camping trips or road trips. If you're looking for a fun and practical DIY project, this is definitely one to consider.
